J-term is just around the corner and we’ve got some big plans for events, some new shows and DJs, and for the first time in a while….A WRMC PRINT PUBLICATION.

FMphasis_color

According to various ephemera gathered around the station, tales of old, and the internet, WRMC’s original publication, FMPhasis hasn’t been in publication since 2004ish, but its history dates back to well before 2000. FMPhasis’ successor of sorts, Mondegreen, is sadly defunct or has gone way way underground beyond my detection…for the time being. WRMC’s web presence has expanded significantly in the past two years beginning with the website redesign and increased social media efforts in 2013, but it will be in 2015 that WRMC’s print platform will rise again. If you always dreamed of writing for WRMC, now’s your chance to make it reeeeeal physical.

Submissions for the publication are open to ALL Middlebury students, DJs and non-DJs. So tell your music lovin’ friends + folks who’ve been abroad!

SUBMISSIONS ARE TO BE EMAILED TO KATE LEIB at KLEIB at MIDDLEBURY.EDU WITH THE SUBJECT “WRMC ZINE BY 11:59 PM ON SUNDAY JANUARY 18.

Due to limited space, not all submissions will be selected for print.

Length: 300-2000 words (or longer with approval)  Graphics: If you want, you can include your own illustrations, photos, hand drawn text, scanned collage, DIY crafts etc to go with your piece.  Or, we can DIYF Do-It-For-You, if you include art direction/visual ideas to go with your piece that could be executed by our creative team.

As always in radio land, contributors will have a leg up during the show application process for spring programming AND you’ll be immortalized in Middlebury’s special collections. Plus, we’ll have a good ol’ release party for the zine when it’s all printed.
