Cloud Nothings are headlining MCAB‘s Winter Carnival Concert this year and we couldn’t be more stoked.   If you don’t remember, and it’s understandable if you don’t, last year’s Carnival show featured the musical ramblings of David Wax Museum, a folk-rock duo that received the most votes from the student body in a really high stakes online poll.  However, this year’s show is guaranteed to be the highest-energy event Middlebury has seen in a while (until Sepom this spring of course.)  Cloud Nothings are coming off the release of one of the loudest, fastest, and pop-punk-est records of 2014, Here and Nowhere Else, which was preceded by 2012’s also excellent, Attack on Memory.  Vacationer, who played here back in the fall of 2012 as part of WRMC’s Grooveyard lineup, are back as Cloud Nothings’ supporting act.  They can be described as “chiller than Cloud Nothings.  Movies, a newly formed student band full of veteran Middlebury musicians Will Cuneo, Bjorn Peterson and Nick Rhemus, will open the show starting at 8 PM this coming Friday the 13th.

Cloud Nothings – “Psychic Trauma”

We made a “Best of Cloud Nothings” playlist except it’s every song they have instead of a best of list because you should really just listen to all of them 10000x before the show.  Also we threw in a Vacationer album for good measure:

Here’s the show poster made by WRMC’s own Creative Director Kate Leib:
