WRMC 91.1 is committed to providing an alternative to mainstream music programming in the Champlain Valley. We uphold this committment largely through our passionate support of independent music that we feel to be exciting, experimental, and new. WRMC's music department is divided into a number of different genre categories, each with its own music manager. Each manager is responsible for reviewing all materials received in their genre and making the music available for DJ airplay. We review and make available nearly all of the music that we receive at the station, and DJs are required to play a percentage of new music on their shows. Information on the releases that we receive—including, in many cases, the grade given by the WRMC reviewer—is entered into our online database and made accessible for viewing. In addition, we provide tracking on releases by phone or email. Each week WRMC reports its charts, based on actual DJ airplay, to CMJ and Dusted Magazine, as well as to a large number of labels, promoters, and other subscribers. Because they do not reflect airplay, we choose not to report industry adds. Any comments or inquiries about WRMC's music department are welcomed at wrmc911@gmail.com.
