Living the Dream

As the spring semester is winding down (up) to an epic finale of hot summer jams and free alcohol provided by Middlebury’s activities budget, it’s time to take stock of what we accomplished this year and, more importantly, what we have to come.

1. The Station: We got a lot of music, we played a lot of music. Some things broke, but Gary fixed them.

2. The interwide web: After almost a full year in existance, we’re over 39,000 hits and still kicking. After a brief lull in new posted music (I blame it on academics entirely, and maybe some drugs) we are on to our summer schedule and have big plans for the blog and website. General manager and comp sci guru Ernest Russel is signed on for a summer with WRMC, which means there is a lot to come, including a return to weekly new music posts, readjustments to the new website (currently in the works still) and a new version of Frank for everyone to enjoy.

3. Concerts: Sepomana was awesome, check out the pics here. Thanks to everyone tht helped out and showed up, but especially to Palmsout Sounds for the epic blog-love after party. Have an idea or connection for a show next year? Send an email to wrmc911@gmail.com with the subject “concerts for 2008/09”.

4. T-shirts: Tees are so in right now and our new ones are even inner. They look like this:

They are $10 and all you have to do to get one is to track down one of us elusive board members at Proctor sometime and demand to be sold a teeshirt. Or you can email Ward.

5. The Future: Stay tuned for Language schools and summer programming if you’re going to be around this summer. Also if you’re a dj, sign in and drop a vote for you favorite songs of the past year for the WRMC 2007/08 Top 91. Get your new issue of Mondegreen somewhere too. Then sit back, play these def Top 91 winners, take another sip of that beer you’re drinking, close your eyes, and imagine Atlantic City…
