After just a week on the air, Phoenix’s “Bankrupt!” is already our top played album. Met with mostly positive reviews and popularly described as “Phoenix-y,” it marks a strong follow-up to their fourth album, 2009’s Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix.  My personal favorite is the second-to-last track “Bourgeois,” a beautiful and anthemic ballad (sorta Small Black meets the Beatles meets Passion Pit) that could be the soundtrack to a remake of “American Beauty”.

The new Charli XCX, Young Galaxy, and Junip also all made quite the jump, and Devendra Banhart and James Blake keep spinning strong. All can be found on the rotation shelf.

Happy listening, everyone!

It’s actually Phoenix’s fifth full-length album! There are three prior to Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix.
