Girls in bands
It’s been a good month for women and it’s been a good month for music. Kim Gordon’s memoir,
with Gordon, in which the two discuss the pervasive and engrained tendency to label any female artist as a “girl in a band” rather than referring to or conceiving of female musicians regardless of their gender, among many other topics.
