To many, Jazz might seem like a relic of the early to mid 19th century, but its development actually changed music as we know it. Go on a journey to Acid Jazzland to hear upbeat, funky jazz-inspired songs from around the world, from acid jazz that developed in London in the 1980s, to Brazil’s bossa nova scene, to psychedelic pop and older classics. The show’s motto is simple: many countries, many chord changes. If there’s something particularly cool, like tresillos or double stops, I’ll mention it. Oh, and no skimping on good basslines!
