Exec Files: Vol. IV

The WRMC executive board presents their favorite tracks, albums, artists, and/or music videos of the week, old and new, but mostly new. TRACK: Tei Shi – “Bassically” Nothing indicates a genuine up-and-comer more than an artist playing a dutiful slew of shows at the annual CMJ festival, and this year the recently signed Tei Shi (Valerie Teicher),… Read More

Uncovered: Cover Songs That Don’t Suck. Vol. 1

Cover songs are a tricky trade.  Most cover attempts tend to result in a lackluster carbon copy of the original song, usually performed with less precision or talent.  But occasionally, you’ll stumble across an innovative band or musician who has succeeded in the old art of reappropriation in putting their own spin on a song,… Read More

The Osheaga Music Festival took place in Montreal last weekend over two beautiful weekend days. I was lucky enough to attend the first (and better) day and was busy from morning til night running around from stage to stage, show to show. Here’s a quick breakdown of the day. Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros:… Read More
