Description:
Bluegrass, from its informal inception with Bill Monroe and his Bluegrass Boys, has been a strong force in American folk music since the first half of the 20th Century. Today, the genre has been pushed in many new directions by visionaries like Billy Strings. On Bluegrass: New Directions, Will Behm and Tom Gause will examine the modern expansions of bluegrass, with moderate focus on the live performances of billy strings, supported by discussion of bluegrass culture, and live bluegrass performances.
