Khalif Diouf’s new album “Tree House” has a lot going on. The Dark Pop rapper features the work of some awesome producers like Shy Guy, Boody, The Drum, and DE, all of whom work a lot with ambient synthy textures that are defining the trends of today’s developing pop scene.

Le1f rose to the spotlight with his hit single “Wut,” whose music video reached over half a million views on YouTube within the first two days of it’s release. His attitude and cutting edge style are what develop the foundations of his aesthetic and have led him to work with other artists like Danny Brown, Mykki Blanco, Cakes da Killa, and House of Ladosha.

“Tree House” also features a lot of great artists, most of whom are making their mark in New York. Junglepussy’s sultry vibes in “Oils” create a unique blend of harmonies that weave in and out of verses. Lofty305, DonChristian, and JODY & Rahel are featured in “Star Me” and combine their styles in a way very similar to Odd Future’s. While each artist establishes their own beat, the melody remains the same to unify the song. I’m excited to see what he has planned for future artistic endeavors.
